Small Pyramids

I walk beside small pyramids, the shadows of which point at me, accusing fingers with the question, what have I done for civilization?

The bricks I have laid, the walls I have made, a construction of hope or another Babel stone?

Knowledge and vigilance are not enough, humility and compassion are the mortar which can ensure the labor is not vain.

The architecture of a life is judged not in great towers of grandiose scheme, but in the small ways one adheres to the divine blueprint.
