Shattered Memories

image

Memories come and haunt me,
Sins of yesterday,
When guiltless child learned evil’s way.

All innocence has been broken,
Acid in my hand,
For perfection eludes the grasp of man.

Yet I can be a child again,
Crystal within me,
Reborn, in the distance a blood-stained tree.
