It was gray and winter day
when you in cold shoulder walked away.
The frost lay thick between us in the bitter gloom
and crackled not from warm breath,
Snow drifts upon the window panes
to trap a frozen eternal flame.
There are no blue skies within
And my grief
like lone leaf fallen from black tree
drifts down into the frozen sea
to be preserved forever,
