They are not much, just some candles and sand in paper bags.
My parents live in a rural area on a road that doesn’t have much traffic so it’s not like a lot of people will see them. But Dad and I placed them out along the driveway anyway.
When one looks at the state of the world and the plethora of tragedies that occurred this past year, it is easy to surrender to despair and fear. Luminaries are signs that all is not lost.
When I went out to light them after it got dark, they looked like a runway on which hope could take off.
